We all want our clothes to remain stain-free, but they are unavoidable. It hurts when the beauty of our clothes gets spoiled, especially when it is costly or emotional. Getting rid of tough stains has always been a challenge for the laundry industry. But no worries, as we have curated a list of DIY techniques to remove various tough stains.

There are various types of stains, which are formed when the particles form a very tight bond with the fabrics. So in the stain removal process, we would loosen the bond between them to remove the stain.

Here is the list of simple DIY techniques to remove different types of stains

1. Sweat Stain

Sweat stains are formed as a result of excessive sweat and dust particles. This type of stain occurs in the collar region and arm-pit region. This type of stain makes it extremely uneasy to use the clothes as you should be always worried about people noticing it. It will also leave an unpleasant impression on you. So it is extremely important to remove these stains 

Removal Technique

Step 1:Soak the stained cloth in warm water to loosen the bond

Step 2:Apply vinegar to the stained area

Step 3:Use a scrubber and slowly rub over the stained area

Step 4:Continue scrubbing until your clothes become completely stain-free.

(Note: If the stain still exists, you shall use hydrogen peroxide instead of vinegar and follow the same procedure to completely get rid of the stain)

2. Ink Stain

Ink stain is a very common type of stain that occurs very frequently among students and working professionals. Ink stains need to be removed as quickly as possible because they would mostly occur with uniform and formal clothes which has recursive usage. The good news is that it can be removed with ease.

Removal Technique:

Step 1:Based on the intensity of the stain, use chalk dust to reduce the intensity of the stain.

Step 2:Wipe out the chalk dust.

Step 3:Now place tissue paper under the stained area.

Step 4:Flush the stained area with rubbing alcohol.

Step 5:Gently rub the stained area until the stain is completely removed

3. Mud Stain

Our kids love to play in the mud, but it is the other way around for the moms. They feel it is highly challenging to clean their clothes with mud stains. Here is our technique to help reduce the challenges faced by moms.

Removal Technique

Step 1: Allow the stained area to dry

Step 2: Remove the excess mud with the help of a knife or a scrubber

Step 3: Now soak the cloth in detergent water to loosen the bond between mud particles and the fabric

Step 4: Scrub the stained area gently until the stain disappears.

Step 5: After the above steps, perform a regular wash.

4. Chewing Gum Stain

We all might have faced the problem of chewing gum sticking to our clothes frequently. Unlike other stains, chewing gum stains are more challenging to remove as they make the whole cloth messy when we try to remove them. But here is a super easy trick to remove chewing gum from your clothes without allowing it to spoil the other parts.

Removal Technique:

Step 1: Ensure that you don’t rub it so that the chewing gum does not spread to other parts

Step 2: Then place your cloth in the freezer for about an hour

Step 3: You will find the gum removable 

Step 4: Take off the chewing gum from your cloth

Step 5: Now rub off the leftovers with an old toothbrush, then perform a regular wash  

5. Food Stain

Food stains are the most annoying and are unavoidable as well. Sometimes, they quickly disappear for a regular wash but most times, they are very stubborn and are challenging to remove. But let that not worry you anymore while enjoying your meal

Removal Technique

Step 1: Soak your clothes in warm water 

Step 2: Sprinkle a few drops of lemon on your clothes

Step 3: Rub the stain with a scrubber or old toothbrush 

Step 4: Repeat the process until the stain gets completely removed 

Step 5: Now perform a regular wash.
